Shared parenting legislation is not in the interests of children

A new report released by the Nuffield Foundation Scotland sheds further light on the problems linked to having a legislated presumption of shared parenting following parental separation.

Congratulations to Australia's own Belinda Fehlberg from The University of Melbourne and Bruce Smyth from the Australian Demographic and Social Research Institute at ANU for developing this vital work, along with Mavis McLean and Cerdiwen Roberts of the Oxford Centre for Family Law and Policy .

Also, my apologies, I've not yet worked out how to upload web pages, so am making do with links for now. Unfortunately, this means you have to copy and paste the link into your browser. Any tips much appreciated.

Reminder: Barbara Pocock is presenting this week in Melbourne for the AIFS seminar series. Her presentation is titled 'Work hours, requests for flexibility and work-life interference in Australia: What we know, what we need to know'. Please rsvp to AIFS (catering is provided). See: http://www.aifs.gov.au/institute/seminars/2011/pocock/index.php

Kind regards,
Briony

Thanks for this, Briony.

To include a link in your posts, there is a button in the blogger software called "link". It's at the top of the window where you type in the body of the blog entry (next to B and I for bold and italic). When you click on it a window pops up asking for the URL. There is also a button for adding an image. Send me an email if I can help with anything else!

cheers
